About

Started in Jan 2005 with a mission to let the world hear the amazing day to day stories of real chicken shed teleworkers and enjoy vicariously the idylls of remote rural living in the farthest flung corner of Europe. Whilst the Beara isthmus points west into the raging Atlantic running from Allihies on the western tip to the sheltered havens of Kenmare, Glengariff and Bantry at the Eastern end, this intrepid writer brings you the sharpest & most astute observations, reflections & musing on the world as seen from a vantage point as far from Dublin as you can get in Ireland without wet feet.

There is technical stuff about the site on the Colophon page.

I lived in London for twenty years and now live in Castletownbere on the South West Coast of Ireland. I was born in the North of the island of Ireland.
